PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the North Arlington Board of Education is seeking applicants to fill a seat on the Board that became vacant effective April 11, 2025. The successful applicant shall serve as a Board member for a term that will run from the date of appointment through the organization meeting that will be held in the first week of January 2026.  Individuals interested in applying for this vacancy should forward a letter of interest and their résumé or qualifications to the School Business Administrator/Board Secretary, Samantha Dembowski, at the North Arlington Board of Education, 222 Ridge Road, North Arlington, New Jersey 07031, or via e-mail at sdembowski@navikings.org. Applicants must submit their letters of interest and accompanying documents no later than 12:00 p.m. on April 24, 2025, to be eligible for consideration.  

Applicants should be aware that New Jersey law requires, as of the time of the appointment, that a member of the Board of Education must: (1) be at least 18 years old; (2) a registered voter; (3) a United States citizen; (4) be able to read and write English; (5) a resident of the North Arlington for at least one year immediately preceding the appointment; (6) not be a disqualified voter; and (7) not be convicted of any crimes or offenses enumerated in N.J.S.A. 18A:12-1. 

The Board, in accordance with Board Policy 0143, expects to conduct interviews of candidates that any member of the Board desires to interview. These interviews will take place during the Public Work Session at the Board’s April 28, 2025 meeting. The meeting will begin at 4:45 p.m. in the Board of Education Office located at 222 Ridge Road, North Arlington, New Jersey.
