NA Update – Phase II Extension

Good afternoon, parents.

As previously noted in district-wide messages and emails, Phase II (October 19, 2020 – November 27, 2020) of our Restart and Recovery Plan is soon coming to an end.  Our hope was to move towards Phase III, which would have increased the amount of time students are able to attend in-person learning under our Hybrid Learning Model (In-Person & Virtual); however, as you’re aware, there has been a significant rise in Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID19) positive cases, not only across New Jersey, but also in our region and community.

After receiving feedback from our Restart and Recovery Committee, which includes parents, teachers, students, administration, board members, council representation, and our local health director, it has been unanimously decided that Phase II will be extended through January 29, 2021

Phase III is now tentatively slated to begin on February 1, 2020, but this decision will be dependent upon all variables present as that time approaches.

EXTENDED PHASE II RESPONSE PROCESS – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

Based on the aforementioned information, families will still be provided the opportunity to select a different learning model for this extension of Phase II (November 30, 2020 – January 29, 2021).  Please see the scenarios and guidance below:

Your child(ren) is/are currently attending our Hybrid Learning Model (In-Person & Virtual)

  •         If you would like your child(ren) to continue with this model, no action is needed.
  •         If you would like to transition your child(ren) to our Fully Virtual Learning Model, which would be effective on Monday (11/30/20), please email your child(ren)’s school secretary for each respective school, as noted within this message by Wednesday (11/18/20).

Your child(ren) is/are currently attending our Fully Virtual Learning Model

  •         If you would like your child(ren) to continue with this model, no action is needed.
  •         If you would like to transition your child(ren) to our Hybrid Learning Model, which would be effective on Monday (11/30/20), please email your child(ren)’s school secretary for each respective school, as noted within this message by Wednesday (11/18/20).

Please remember that if you select the Hybrid (In-Person & Virtual) Learning Model, you may transition to the Fully Virtual Learning Model at any point by notifying your child(ren)’s school secretary for each respective school; however, you cannot transition from our Fully Virtual Learning Model to our Hybrid (In-Person & Virtual) Learning Model at any point during this new window of Phase II in order to maintain appropriate health and safety guidelines.
