NA Update – Phase III (4/5/21 – 5/14/21)
Good afternoon, parents.
As previously noted in the weekly update, we’ll be expanding our Hybrid Learning Model to four days per week (M/T/R/F) beginning on April 5, 2021. This expansion (Phase III) will extend through May 14, 2021. Everything will remain the same, except Cohorts A and B will be discontinued. Families selecting the in-person option will now follow a four day, in-person, schedule, beginning on April 5, 2021. Wednesdays will remain fully remote.
Our in-person learning is being expanded in coordination with the North Arlington Department of Health (NADOH) and the entire Restart and Recovery (Reopening) Committee. Please remember that our PreK-5 classes are now equipped with desk shields, or “barriers,” as noted in Governor Murphy’s Executive Order 175, which states, “a. At least six (6) feet of distance between individuals in all settings to the greatest extent practicable or social distancing modifications, such as a physical barrier or turning desks to face the same direction, when six (6) feet of distance cannot be achieved.” Also, earlier today, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced that it “now recommends that, with universal masking, students should maintain a distance of at least 3 feet in classroom settings.”
The results below represent over 1,300 students from our most recent survey regarding the placement of students, as we expand to four days of weekly in-person learning.
K-5: 76% In-Person & 24% Remote
VMS: 65% In-Person & 35% Remote
NAHS: 54% In-Person & 46% Remote
Phase III Response Process – Please read carefully and respond by Wednesday (3/24/21).
Based on the aforementioned information, families will be provided the opportunity to select a different learning model as we prepare for Phase III (April 5, 2021 – May 14, 2021). Please see the scenarios and guidance below:

We appreciate everyone’s patience and support in an attempt to overcome the challenges triggered by this pandemic, the impact of which has been felt by our school community for the past year. As we enter the spring season, please remember that we will continue to place the health and safety of our students and staff at the forefront of our decision-making process, while adhering to Governor Murphy’s Executive Orders.
Thank you and stay well.
